Environmental and Occupational Health Department at Emory
Welcome to the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. The faculty, staff, and students of our department study the way the environment affects human health. Our ultimate goal is to protect and promote human health by providing a healthy environment. We focus on many specific issues, at many different scales, from the molecular to the global. Our research addresses such issues as pesticides (and their link with neurologic disease), air pollution (and its link with cardiopulmonary disease), water pollution, heavy metals, solvents, persistent organic pollutants, urban sprawl, and global climate change. We use a wide variety of methods including epidemiology, toxicology, and risk assessment, and we collaborate with a great many partners at other universities, agencies, private companies, and associations.
