Mount Aloysius College Medical Assistant Program
Associate Degree The Medical Assistant program is a program of studies preparing students to assist physicians in offices, hospitals, and clinics. Medical assistant students are exposed to such courses as sociology, anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology, and are trained in the administrative and clinical skills needed to assist key members of a health care team. The Medical Assistant program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), on recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Medical Assistant Education*. Students are encouraged to sit for the American Association of Medical Assistants Certification examination and may also test for Certification as Phlebotomy and EKG Technicians. *The Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants' Endowment (AAMAE).
